Is everyone having a good year? I had a meh start with Job-hunting, uni and all that kind of stuff. I’ve been behind in posting these recaps so this one is kind of a catch up.

Art

As many of you know, Tiktok got ‘banned’ then unbanned this year and many people migrated to Xiaohongshu (also known as ‘RedNote’). I should note that I never used TikTok but I was intrigued by XHS. So I took the plunge. This chibi art was for my intro post on there (my username is the same as everywhere else @GuinWinifred). I think it’s cute but I would make it clearer that she’s waving next time.

A friend and I made OCs based on each other’s favourite characters and design traits. These two are twins who co-own a gym~ Essentially, we took what each other tended to like in character designs and their favourite characters and create two OCs (1 male and 1 female) based on that. The whole process was really fun and took me out of my comfort zone. Although… it’s a little time consuming so I wouldn’t do it all the time.

Wanted to make a idol unit that had the opposite aesthetic to Necropop (my other oc girlband) and this is what I came up with. An angelic j-pop unit inspired by animals and magical girls~ I like how the headshots came out~ New info about them will come out when I start making their full bodies (which might be a while…).

Crochet & Knitting

Due to having a lot of yarn, I’ve decided this year I’m going to stop buying without a project in mind and try to use up as much yarn as I can before the end of the year. I’ll record my progress on these usually monthly blog posts.
My starting total of yarn is around 66 skeins of yarns (of various sizes).
