Hi again! Uhhh… looks like I forgot to post for a few months! Oh well~ Here’s an overview of all the art I made in September – November.

September

Some birthday art I did for myself in September – I drew my persona in a new outfit~ Unfortunately, this is the only artwork I finished that month. I really like the outfit but the shading could be improved (I think it looked better without it).

October

This is a character sheet for my character, Mariko Ikema. I really would would like to make more ref sheets but they take so much time TT.
The concept for this design was the sea witch from the little mermaid as an idol – which lead me to also draw inspiration from Jellyfish for their solo outfit. The casual outfit was designed to be suitable for summer/beach but y’know fashionable. I wasn’t originally going to put a pattern on the top but I realised I don’t include patterns often. So I thought it would be fun to include wave/water ripple patterns into her clothing to further push the water theming. The unit outfit was inspired by men’s european period clothing (no specific time period just various eras) as the unit were inspired by villians in (mostly european) fairytales.
I made like 22 colour palettes before picking this one (maybe I’ll show them some other time teehee~). I reframed from picking the obvious a blue focused colour palette because a couple of other characters in the unit. So I chose more green-teal palettes to still a water vibe without being straight up blue.

OCtober Art
In October, I did a 31 day art challenge with friends – where we had to draw our OCs (from our collective enstars/idol au) based on prompts.

Day 1 – Ghost Cat

I was intending to upload art daily but kinda failed mid-way!!! For this prompt, I drew all our ‘cat-coded’ OCs in the kimono yurei/dead wear (where the collar is the wrong ). Xiangqing (my OC) is the one in the bottom left – everyone else are my friends’ OCs. I will post more about her and her unit eventually.

Day 2 – Wizard

Mariko as a Wizard. One of my favourites of the 31 drawings – I really like how I did the lighting. It’s basically some cell shading and then air brushing the edges of the figure darker and a lighter colour near the orb to make it look like it’s ‘glowing’. Although I could improve the lineart and the wrinkles of the skirt as the lines around the orb look a little jagged.

Day 3 – Cultural Dress

Decided to draw Crisanta in a Maria Clara dress. I think I’m liking how most of my flat colour illustrations are looking recently!

Day 4 – Baking

Drew Willow (right) baking with a friend’s OC (left). I found the poses in this one a little difficult but it turned out okay in the end (although I would change how I lined the hand’s on the left character). One thing I do like about the illustration is the ruffles – they are so fun to draw~. I do wish I had more time to do a proper background but alas it was a 31 day challenge so that wouldn’t really be reasonable.

Day 5 – Jojo Pose
Based the pose on a stock photo of Jolyne Cujoh (From Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure). Nothing much to say about this one other than I like it overall. However, I would look at references of boots in the future and choose a more noticable colour for the laces (they’re too similar to the boot colour).

Day 6 – With Favourite Character

Decided to draw Yvonne with Kohane~ I really like how Kohane’s face turned out. Although the clothes look a little disproportional especially Yvonne’s shorts.

Day 7 – Circus

Drew Lilia as a beast tamer. Struggled a little bit with Lilia’s pose and the tiger. I should’ve done some studies of tigers before starting this piece so I could simplify the tiger’s patterns better. The clothes look great tho!

Day 8 – Decora

Kinda struggled knowing when to stop adding more with this one. I feel like I could add more but I also know I wouldn’t finish this on time if I did that. I also tried to keep the outfit in character for what Nisha would actually wear. It did feel a little freeing to go ‘crazy’ with details and colours – would love to draw more decora themed art when I have the time.

Day 9 – Candy

Wanted to do something simple since Day 8 was very detailed (the prompt was Decora). So I just did the mascots for two of my OC idol units (‘Necropop’ and Xiangqing’s unit).

Day 10 – Outfit Swap

Swapped outfits with friend’s OC (left). I have to admit that I did rush a little with this one so the colours look a little off. Still looks somewhat cute tho~

Day 11 – Genderbend

Got a little lazy and just did headshots of Necropop and Guin/Gwen. I think they look okay however I would want to do more studies of men’s faces so I could differentiate the faces more.

Day 12 – Fantasy/RPG

Drew Xiangqing as a archer…. Not my favourite drawing. I think I will make a better design after drawtober – I didn’t really put much thought into this design

Day 13 – Cosplay

A quick sketch of Mariko as Vodka from Food Fantasy. I was experiencing a little bit of art block around this time so I found it a little difficult to make drawings I was happy.

Day 14 – Dreamland

Drew Sagiso (far-left) and my friends’ OCs sleeping. Didn’t try to clean with my colouring with this one – I thought it would make it look ‘dreamy’. They turned out cute <3. I feel like I should’ve put more thought into the pajamas designs as they do look a little plain.

Day 15 – Sci-fi

Decided to draw Xiangqing’s bandmate for this one. Was very inspired by Love Nikki’s Ruin suits. I might remake this when I figure out a colour palette for her – I still like the design very much.

Day 16 – Recreate Album Art

Decided to redraw Nayeon’s album art with my friend’s OC (Mei). This was really fun! I think I would like to do this more with my OCs!!! My favourite parts of this drawing are the clothing and the text. I’m really happy with how close I was to the actual album’s text.

Day 17 – Royalty

Drew another of my friend’s OC, Reiko. The lighting was fun although the skirt looks a little off but still not bad.

Day 18 – Furryfied

Lilia (right) with my friend’s OC, Cali (left). This was fun to draw! Hopefully after Drawtober I can practice drawing more anthro characters. I will say that Lilia’s hair could be better incorporated into her anthro design.

Day 19 – Pumpkin Carving

Took a break from Drawtober for a bit due to burnout. But now I’m back and I drew my friend’s OC, Minato.

Day 20 – Opposite Personality

I’m back! Today I swapped Willow’s and Lilia’s personalities for this one heheh. I changed their clothes to further push the personality change. Realistically speaking I don’t think I can finish all the remaining drawings in one day so the last few drawings may be finished in November.

Day 21 – If in another series

Wasn’t sure which series to do so I did two! Crisanta is an octoling and Nightshade is a Rabbit animal crossing villager. I like Nightshade’s rendering more tbh… very 3d very nice.

Day 22 – Rainy Day

Okay…. so still haven’t finished the last prompts from October but slowly finishing them this week. This is my friend’s OC, Mizuki. Really like how it turned out! The umbrella was a little tricky tho.

Day 23 – Fairy

This is my friend’s OC (Mirai) as a fairy~ Really like how the pose turned out <3. The wings might be a little cluttered but not really bothered with that – I still really like it~

Day 24 – Monster

Drew Yvonne as a Werewolf <3. I had more ideas of other monster designs (especially after looking at Dungeon Meshi’s artbook) that I would like to do in the future.

Day 25 – Younger Version

Made Child versions of Gwen, Sagiso, Mariko and Nisha~ Nisha do look a little strangly proportioned.

Day 26 – Stuffed Animal

Drew a younger Crisanta with Nightshade~ Another favourite of this month!

Day 27 – Phantom Thief

Drew my friend’s OC (Kenta) as a thief escaping the scene~ I like the pose although the braids look a little static.

Day 28 – Prison

Was originally gonna drew Lilia and Yvonne as the Ken and Barbie mugshot(?) meme but I didn’t like Lilia’s half so I just did Yvonne. I do think it would be better with the other half but oh well.

Day 29 – Aesthetic Change

Drew Sagiso in a more ‘alt’ fit. I did struggle with the colours a little (tried not to put similar colours in the same place).

Day 30 – Corruption/Evil

Since Xiangqing’s unit has an angel theme I thought it would be fun to drew a devil theme for this day~

Day 31 – Halloween

Finally, here’s the last piece of the Drawtober 2024. While I did finish late – it’s nice to finish a Drawtober. Here’s my friend’s OCs (Sylvie & Lilith) as an angel and devil.

November

Decided to take a break from OC art for a bit and draw this~ Haven’t drawn in this style for so long. It was a very fun render although I would put the pieces in separate layers to make the process a lot less fiddly and time consuming.

I also opened Kofi commissions this month for fun. Nothing much has really come from it yet but I’m sure if I become more active on my socials I might get some commissions maybe? Hopefully…
