This month had Artfight and was my first month of absolutely no school whatsoever. So lots of art this month 🙂

Btw sorry for the late post – I intended to post this earlier but life got in the way.

My Character References

In July, I wanted to finish a few more character references for Artfight as I didn’t do much in June.

This is Morgan. This was one of the more drastic redesigns but was quite necessary as her old design didn’t really fit her aggressive and solitary nature. Her new design is based on a Barracuda. If I were to do anything differently, I would make the net bandana more visible as it’s barely visible and I think you would miss if there was no annotation.

This panda is Jenny. This was one of the redesigns where I wasn’t fully happy with as I feel like their outfit is still off but I’m still satisfied as I made her bodyshape like an actual panda’s.

This is my band of OCs called Necropop. Recently, I have been wanting to draw them more so their reference sheets were a given. You’ll see more of them in future posts UwU. Please keep in mind that if I draw them in a group in their band outfits – their shirts will be the same white.

My Attacks (My fanart of other people’s OCs)

Terms definitions if people aren’t aware of Artfight:
Attack = art of another user’s OC

I’ve heard about Artfight in the past but this is my first time actually participating. It was really fun – especially seeing attacks of mycharacters and people’s reactions to my attacks of their characters. For next year, I want to go in with lower expectations as this I was overly ambitious and set a way too high expection on how many attacks I could do in a month. This resulted in me being slightly burnout at the end of the event.

My first attack was of Artfight!

The OC ‘3ds’ who belongs to rabbitclown on Artfight. I like the overall look of it however my shading could use some work. I relied heavily on the ‘airbrushed/blurred’ shadows on a peice that would benefit the use of primarily cell shading due to the thickish lineart.

Second attack of Artfight!

This attack is Reagan who belongs to TheLuckyBot. Tried to do cell-shading but I think I need to work on that a bit more…

Third attack of Artfight!

This is Alis from milka_naget on Artfight. Tried a softer ‘cell-shaded’ with this one – I think it was more successfully than the previous attack. However, I think I made their snout too short (I think the character was meant to be a dog).

4th Attack of Artfight 2024!

This is Juno who belongs to jellifvsh on artfight! I think the rendering looks good overall. However, I would tweak the plant pot to a colour that works with the rest of the colour palette. I would also tweak the position of the legs to make them less awkward.

5th Attack of Artfight

Revenge art for Moonie_hehe on Artfight of their character Constance <3. I’m really proud of the lineart and the screentone effect. I would like to do similar art in the future.

6th Attack of Artfight!

Revenge for kaywashere on artfight – this is their charcter Shuichi! The cell shading turned out really well! My only issue with this attack is the hand – it looks so awkward…

7th Attack of Artfight!

This is Mocha who belongs to Lovelette. One of my favourites – I love how I rendered this attack <3. Probably my new preferred way of rendering.

8th and final attack of this year.

This is my revenge attack of Ava who belongs to sakkelimu on Artfight. Another favourite method of rendering – granted it’s very similar to the 7th attack’s style just with minimal lineart. The only thing I would redo is the trainers and use reference.
